A rant: Race versus Show

A rant: Race versus Show
I'm probably going to get in trouble for this but hey I'm going to ask some logical questions because I think it's high time we stop looking like morons.
I'm not here to debate which is better, building a show car or a race car. Thats not the point of this thread.
The point of this thread is to ask the question of all those show teams out there. and there are quite a few of you out there... why you use the term racing in your team names... I'm sure quite a few people on this board know of show teams that use the term "racing" in their name.
A show car doesn't go anywhere at the events it competes in. it sits there and looks pretty and gets judged. there's no racing involved.
I personally think TCC did it right with the creation of the TCC Show team... see thats a SHOW team they use the word show in the team name.
The best is when I go up to some of these teams and ask them where they race their cars and I get blank stares.. "ohhh we don't actually race" is the response I ussually get. then I invite them out to a few events that are cheap and less harmful then driving on the streets ... response I get is ussually "our cars arn't build for that man"
if your going to create a team with the word racing in it then race the cars. if your going to create a team that just does shows then leave the word racing out of the team name it just makes the whole scene look idiotic.
thats my rant.

theres no reason a car cant look good and perform at the same time, instead of doing mods without thinking, these all show guys should put some thought into it. like once i saw a g35 wiht a supercharger installed but clearly wasnt functioning, whats the point of that, do superchargers that have no belts hooked up get extra points? or cars with crazy engione swaps with coilover sleeves on stock shocks. meh let them do what they wnat

but racing sounds so cool. kinda like TURBO or SIR or Type R or SS or GTI
the words RACING just inspire images and thoughts of fast cars half naked girls and good times. ... kinda like a beer commercial LOL

But yea, all cars generally suck, but some suck more than others. But a car that can deep throat, now man, thats a beast.

I give props for those who shine their car like no others. Personally, I can only go so far as far as cleaning is concerned. Wash it once a week or every 10 days, vacuum as needed and wipe dust. That's it.
As long as no one gets hurt at the end of the day, whatever they want to call it, or how they want to do up their car, it really doesn't matter, no?
If that matters, then people who dress up ganster style is our next topic.

Ya gatherer, I sort of understand where you are coming from. But one thing I have learned is try not to imply what you think is correct over other people. That is different from the right doings vs. the wrong doings.
