should this maybe be moved to the tech section? I think you need to do a little research into cams and some more info on your engine would help also. Like what mods to the engine, and D16 what? Y7, Y8 etc? Also not to say you're wrong wanting to cam your engine but unless you're building your D series for boost, you're gonna spend a lot of money for not a lot of gain staying NA. If a NA D series is what you really want then I'd looking into a stage 2 cam from someone like Crower as well as supporting mods like valve springs, top hats and retainers. Also depending on what stage cam tuning the ECU will likely be needed. Anything beyond st2 you probably need a port and polish to really see the full gains of the cam, tho a P&P will benefit you regardless, but not cheap.

Really all in if you want to make any power gains you'll notice look for a b series swap. Complete B16/B18's can be had for around what you'll spend on building a d series and make as good or better power and have better gear ratios. Maybe get lucky and find a complete B20 swap, but given the NW Ontario location under your avatar and the fact that I may have seen other posts by you here or on other forums, motor swap options might be harder to come by. That said, maybe run a low boost setup?

Long and the short of it, Go B series for best bang for your buck, but if your location means $$$ on shipping, then a turbo D might make more sense. I had a ton of fun with my old boosted D. Check out D-series.org to really talk with some experts on the D series and GO-AUTOWORKS LLC - WWW.GO-AUTOWORKs.COM for turbo kits. Anything from starter kits with stock internals to fully build monsters these guys have it pretty well covered.
