I'm looking to change my transmission from automatic to standard transmission. I have a 98 Civic with a stock engine. I have the clutch already for the car, I was just wondering how much an estimated cost would be for the tranny swap. Any good shops that you guys can refer would be great.

who is gonna do the rest? Aka run the hydros and install the pedals? you ll also need a new ECU. As for shops any mechanical repair affiliate like total JDM which would sell and install the transmission. I would imagine all in all just over 1000 bucks for parts and install

clutch -250
master-20-50
slave -20-50
lines- 20-30
Shift linkage and shifter -100
brake and clutch pedal -50
install - 400-500
ECU - 100+

not worth swapping to m/t. i hear people keep getting problems after swap. plus you might just sell your civic and buy a manual one unless you have a lot of work put in to your car and has sentimental value [which i dont think since you said its stock?]

I got my civic swapped auto to manual...and an advice to you is to just buy car that's already manual or get a engine swap al together. Im telling you right now, you'll end up paying more for it. If you really want to do it, dont go to defcon. I know alot of people said they're good (if you know them and you're friends with them), but I got my car done there, and all im gonna say is i'm never go back there.
