removing VSS from tranny, b16 Y1

anybody know how to do this, only thing thats holding me back from pulling the motor. DOes the cable come out or the whole assembly? Bolt holding it down?

Its mechanical not electric one i dunno if that changes anything. Ive searched alot but only talk about removing it to fill the tranny but not how to exactly remove it. thanks

if you pull back the rubber boot, there will be a clip holding it in place... just take that out and it will slide out.... you will understand if you look at it....

if its the JDM VSS there is no cable, its electric and if you want to put in the US vss you just swap the d series one in.

ya just remove the clip holding the cable in place.
If you are trying to remove the whole VSS (for whatever reason) its just 1 10mm bolt that holds it to the tranny, undo that, and wiggle the VSS while pulling up, it'll come out....but you don't need to remove the whole VSS to pull the engine out, just remove the cable.

couldnt find the clip u guys are talking about, is it behind the boot on the firewall? Meh, i just pulled out the whole VSS, same **** lol.

Also had a very lovely time tryin to take out the shifter linkage pin thing, i tried for an hour using the c clamp method, hammer, nuttin. Just gonna drop the motor, then play around with it while the motor is out.

Haha, I had fun with that shift linkage spring pin just the other day. A punch and a heavy hammer work beautifully. Position the punch nicely on the lip of the pin and give it a SOLID hit with the hammer (no love taps). It WILL move eventually and it moves a little bit each time you hit it. It doesn't pop out in one shot.

yea i thought of that but,, i dunno i didn't think wacking the crap out of it was good for the tranny.. I kinda wish i would of taken it out b4 i took out the motor. I kinda bent the linkage cuz i didnt raise the car enough.... bent it back with the torch, hopefully its fine lmao.

worst case gotta take that **** out and get a 90-93 teg one from junkyard and cut/weld it. I learned my lesson, dont rush things!!!
