Shifting hard.

I always warm up my car in the winters. However, once it warmed up it (on occasion) will be hard to put into 2nd and 3rd (up or downshifting). Like, sometimes I have to really force it in there if I gotta move quickly. Are my gears/synchros worn? Or do I need to get the tranny serviced, new fluid? Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Corey.

Hi,

After 75,000 km you are supposed to change the oil transmission
(manual shop).

You are probably need to change the shifter bushing kit too, because after few year of utilisation, the gear change are harder to do. I change my shifter bushing and now it is so easy...and the gear change are faster..

My truck is really hard to put in to gear when its cold, and sometimes after its warmed up too.

0.6-0.8 hr labour

fluid will be around $30

So around $100 give or take.

Or just buy the fluid and do it yourself. It's easy. Save your money.:)

Haven't done it before. What do I have to do?

There is a small bolt at the bottom of tranny to drain the oil. Then tighten it and there is a bigger bolt up near the front right driveshaft around 16mm?. Just fill it on flat ground till it pours out by funnel and pipe so u cant over fill it at all. Tightened and done and if i can remember it used around 1.7 litres of mtf

its 17mm. and I usually like to remove the duct work and use a funnel with a hose on the end.

thanks guys, going to do it this weekend. Hopefully it fixes the problem.
