Ok i had my car parked for about a year and something.When it was parked i left it in first gear, now i got the car running but the gears are very hard to put in now,does my shift linkage need to be all greased up so everything will go in smooth?

Does the shifter feel stiff? May need a bit of lube on the bushings. Also check the transmission fluid to make sure its still looking good and not just gunk.

Defentaly check the grease where the bitch pin is and relube that...
Take it all apart re lube and it shall be good as new
