no pressure in clutch pedad until half way down?

I just did a clutch job on my car. Replaced the clutch plate, pressure plate, throwout bearing, got the flywheel resurfaced, new pilot bearing.

I got it all back together and ive bled the release cylinder lines but the clutch pedel will still go half way down with no pressure and then the last little bit of travel it does.

I got someone to press the pedal down as I watched the release fork and it seems to move about an inch.

Before having to take the release cylinder off to do the clutch job it worked fine. What gives? Im using the dot 3 fluid and everything. Followed Haynes manual instructions.

Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

Another note. I did get under the dash and take a look at the pedal. The pedal will push the clutch cylinder in about half way with ease and then it starts to feel like clutch pressure. Would it be the clutch cylinder? It was giving me no trouble before?

I guess I should have said I spent about an hour and half bleeding the lines. It seems as though there isnt enough fluid in the line and maybe that the master cylinder pin is stuck forward a little bit? could I try forcing fluid through the bleeder valve on the slave cylinder? Would that maybe force the pin in the master back?

Pull the boot back on the slave, if its leaking, replace it.

Check the master cylinder seal to see if its leaking, if so, replace it.

Well, if the slave isn't leaking, it's probably an internal leak inside the master. Assuming you haven't fiddled with the push rod on the pedal, i'd say it's save to say the master should be replaced.

You pulled back the carpet under the steering wheel and had a look where the rod for the master cylinder comes through the firewall and there is no leak? if you bled the system and the slave and master are not leaking you probably have a leak in one of the lines. Are you dropping any fluids? What colour is the fluid in the resevoir?

Also, check the pedal adjustment nut under the dash, maybe you knocked it loose somehow.
