Help! gearing problem

Hi everyone, I just very recently bought a used ek and it was very good for the first couple days, drove it like 700 km's since thursday, and today when I tried to shift into first to get into a plaza it wouldn't go in and my clutch was all the way to the floor by itself. I popped it back up with my foot and then clutched down and it went into first. Then when I got home I turned the car off and I was trying to shift from 1-2-3-4-5, sometimes it won't go into reverse, sometimes it won't go into first, there's no more of that soft feeling it had when I bought the car. Any ideas on what it might be? Sorry for the long post

First of all you should never gear into 1st when you are moving...

"clutch was all the way to the floor by itself" my guess is you clutch master cylinder. Check your reservoir, if you are low on fluid, it means you are losing it somewhere. Also check at the end of the pedal and see if you have fluid all over the floor if so it def the CMC. Anyways the problem is in the Hydrolic system.

700km in 3 days... geez poor car.

Honda gear boxes are known for not going into reverse easily you generally have to put in in first then reverse. It suggests this in the owners manual believe it or not.

I'm having the same problem with reverse but first I dont know

Is your clutch sticking to the car? ( like does it comeback up after pressed?)

The best but unfortunately most expensive solution is get a new tranny

Just went out to drive it for a little bit, it seems alright now, but I guess maybe it might be low on fluid? I'll get it changed and see from there, thanks for the input guys!

I had troubles putting it in first, I changed the tranny fluid and now it ***** like gold.

Also I don't recommend shifting down from 2nd to 1st but it won't go into first unless your below 20km then it will allow you to go into first.

Reverse can sometimes be a bitch to get into, I also found it much easier when I changed the fluid once again. But the first than to reverse does work good as well

also its sometimes harder to get into reverse when your ebrake is up, or was up and then you pressed on the brake before you released it. if you rolla bit and break. it will go in reverse easy.

Sounds like a normal Honda tranny. 1st can be temperamental even from a dead stop, it should not be used if moving over 10kph. Reverse will grind if you are rolling.

Its even worse with an automatic Honda transmition getting into reverse.

Check for leaks
