Fastest/easiest way to swap clutch in Dseries

Whats the easiest way to do the clutch in a D series...drop thans out the bottom alone or pull the whole engine/trans out the top to seperate them.

Doin this in an hour and need it done ASAP.

Thanks for the suggestions

Drop the trans out the bottom if that's all your doing is the clutch.

Definetly way easier than pulling the motor.

just drop the transmission...i always pull the whole engine out since i do it in the garage and its just toooo much of pain in the bum to get it out from under there and back on.

Make sure the engine is supported with a brace, since when you take the t-mount off to separate the transmission off the engine, it will drop...

Ya I just decided to drop it out the bottom. Swapped my shift linkage while I was in there because the pivot piece at the tranny was worn right out causing a sloppy shifter, put a short shifter in it aswell and ended up having to do the drivers tie rod too cuz the threads were stripped. New exhaust front to back and put in a set of brand new black housing TYC projectors I grabbed from the JY for free haha They were in the box still in the trunk of a wreck. Its all together and running now but Ive got a CEL and the starter seems really weak...How do I check the codes on a civic? (Im a Neon guy and dont quite know my way around a civic yet)

Start by checking the battery. Weak cranking, either your battery is low or your trans isn't installed flush and properly so it's binding up on the new flywheel or sompehting but more likely that the batt is just weak.

As for codes, 92 Civic? take a paper clip and bend it into a "U" shape. get down under the pass side dash and follow up the kick panel and pull back the carpet in that area, you find the ECU and it will have a 2 wire lead with a blue connector going to nothing sticking out up there. take your paper clip and jump from one side to the other of that connector and then turn your key to key on eng off position. the CEL will flash a series of long and short blinks, record what it does exactly and then check back here or just research code reading and find what the blinks work out to mean number-wise and that'll give you an idea.

Its all good, I figured it out. Was the one black wire that clips onto the starter, just had to pinch the clips together a bit so it stayed on good n tight. As for the CEL I forgot to plug in my speed sensor, but didnt notice cuz it doesnt work half the time anyway lol
