clutch problem?

ok so i got a ej1 with a b16a motor swap it has a stock clutch and i recently replaced the clutch master cylinder and so today i go in my car start it up and drive to the lights like 2 minutes from my house and i go to put the clutch in and all i hear is a low pitch snap sounding like it came from under the pedal assembly under the dash or in the engine bay on the driver side and then i go to drive and the clutch pedal started to feel really soft and had alot of play in it. the clutch will catch and not grind or anything when i switch gears but it just feels really werid now and i dont know what the hell it could be if anyone has any info or any knowledge on this i would appreciate the help.

Did you put the cotter pin back into the push rod when you replace the master?
