when driving in 5th gear at 120kmh today it jsut started making a weird noise...almost like a skate sharpener....only under load....so if im coasting with the clutch in/out it wont make noise ONLY while in the gas in gear! mostly in 4th and 5th. now in 3rd at low rmp in town it kinda makes like a ticking noise almost...

any idea's?

Is the noise there in 4th gear at the same vehicle speed? If not, it could be a sign that your bearings are starting to go. Same thing happened to me.

Sorry, I re-read your post after I posted. If the noise is coming in 3rd gear now, it's definitely a bearing issue. Mine started in 2nd gear, then went to 3rd gear. By then my car was barely drive-able. Ending up being bearings which caused my 3rd, 4th, and 5th syncro to go bad.

hmm...i noticed today that driving say 80kmh on way to work that it mad a bit of a humming noise in 4th and 5th so in 4th around 65-70 kmh and in 5th 70-80 kmh
