Wrong Information on ticket

What happenes if a cop writes you a ticket and it has wrong information on it? For example, my ticket that I receintly got says there were no witnesses however my girlfriend was with me in the car

i dont think people in your car can be witnesses. i believe witnesses refers to third party witnesses that were not involved in the incident in any way.

yes... for the purpose of the ticket/report, the cop means anyone who was not involved in the accident. We wrote off a car on the 427 once.... a tow truck driver saw the whole thing... but because he had my friends car in the hoist, the cop said the no wittnesses. We asked him why, and we were told that because the car is on his truck, it's a conflict of interest for him to be a witness because he is "involved" now.

Talk to a lawyer about it. The jugde could amend the ticket in court so it is valid.....

They can be a witness but it is up to the judge as to whether he/she will believe your friend. I have been told by a cop friend that it won't hold much water in court as they have a vested interest in seeing you get off the charge....
The judge will buy the cops story before your girlfriend....
But fight it...you might get officer bingo if he doesn't show up...at the very least you'll get it reduced.
good luck

Depending on what information.. and what type of infraction.. parking I know is minor and can be easily battled.... I am a junior parking enforcement officer for Toronto if you need to know how Municipal parking works...

So can you make tickets mysteriously "go away"?

If you can, bring that "book" to a meet.
