WOW, what a ticket...can i get it lowered>??..lol

Well today i was rushing to my dads factory in milton and i got pulled over by the legendary white undercover volvo on trafalgar....=(....turns out i got a ticket for 359.99 and 4 demerit points for going 129 in a 80......he says i was actually going 135 but with that on a ticket i would have to pay 730.00 and get my liscense suspended for 30 days...but thing is, i really really!!! don't think i was going that fast...and also a truck was passing me on the left (with the cop in the crowd of oncoming traffice passing me) so i think it may be possible that he caught the trucks speed but got me instead because the guy turned into a driveway soon after he passed me and went in front of me...........so now i have a massive ticket and i have to go to court and i am thinking of X copper cuz i really can't take a 4 demerit hit....=(....is there any chance to get this reduced or completely gone? and if so...please help me out..

nah man...
you can never get it completely gone, the only way that would happen is if the court date he doesin't show up, then the judge will ask you if you can come another time, you say no i am to busy with work (judge NEVER cares, not going to insist you to come) but dont' count on that...the cop get's paid to come to court with Air Conditioing he get's to chill for like hours in that place doing sihit all...unless he's real sick and wont come... but ya..out of 4 points you can no problem get then down to 0 points, but with a ticket for 360, you can probably get it down to like 100 buks, but if you want to try to see if the cop can *** up and not come...everytime you get your court date...call in and get it put on another date...wich will mean another month...then keep on doing that with bs' excuses for like 3 times then this will be almost a year later maby the cop will forget you never know..or he'll just give up you never know..

but ya....that's about all you can do ..

good luck

yup.. i have tried this (i have plenty of experice for going to court haha..that's a different story)

and no...there are no fees you pay..you can't just not show up, or there going to find you guilty..when you get your letter you have to call them ASAP, and tell them you can't make it for some bs reason...

worked for me, after i changed it to another date, cop didnt show = automatic drop

still, get disclosure, u wont regret it
helps if u plan on arguing the charge

if u have a summons for court, then immediately request disclosure. if u have a ticket notice where u have to set a trial date yourself, then do that and wait for the notice to appear in the mail. Jolt up to the court house and request disclosure.

hahahaha aren't you the guy that got pulled over just a few days ago for spinning out 'doing the speed limit' on HWY 10 the other day? LOL

do x copper, it might save you some demerit points, but you're still gonna lose some

For a 4 point speeding offence the prosecutor will drop you down one offence grade, which is a 3 point speeding offence. Your new charge will be 29 over and will cost whatever that costs. You will not get a 0 point reduction, they just don't do that as I found when I went to try and reduce my 34 over ticket.

If you go to X Copper, they will consider this drop to a 3 point offence a win and you will have to pay them when all you had to do was schedule a first attendance with a prosecutor.

You need to fight this and have the cop not show up, or convince a judge you weren't speeding. Both are possible, but not probable.

but that area has signs posted if you speed and the points you will lose....if you get caught at certian speeds...so you had all the warning you needed and knew the risk.....the judge is going to look at that....and for sure the cop will bring it up

You say that you dont think you were going that fast. But how fast were you going (be honest)? Just so you know it is possible that the officer was able to single your vehicle out even with that larger and faster truck beside you. Most radar instruments display the speed of the strongest target (which would be the truck in this case because its larger) but others lock on to the fastest target. The officer will know wether his radar locked on to the fastest or strongest.

Is there a chance to get this reduced or completely gone? Maybe. Since the officer told you he had a reading of 135kph he has already reduced it, and the crown attorney will be made aware of that. Remember the crown attorney will get the same disclosure from the officer as you will. So to get another reduction is unlikely. But you can try.

I got a ticket by the white volvo cop on trafalgar and lower base line around a year ago for around 120kph in an 80 and he was gonna give a ticket for 4 demerit points but knocked it down to 3 points and 20kph over the limit. I still went through X copper, fought it and got away with like 15kph over and no points. Xcopper is fawking great because they take care of everything and they can actually beat tickets unlike alot of the shi.tty services out there such as points. I am very impressed with there work especially considering the fact that the cop is a police sargent. Oh and BTW i do not recommend going with a laywer because I was gonna do that and he wanted close to a grand and if he loses I get none of that back, with X copper if they cant at least get the ticket lowered then they pay the ticket and all fee's. Plus they arent that expensive anyway at around 300 bucks, they ended up saving my ****loads of money.

Umm this isnt the movies, the radar does not just lock onto the fastest taget, the gun must be aimed at the vehicle the officer suspects is speeding the shot and when its laser is must be shot twice to confirm its accuracy. And btw the cop in question does not use radar, he uses laser.

through friends experiences, POINTTS have been better than X-Copper

X-Copper seems to only reduce tickets, while POINTTS have actually manged to dismiss 3 out of 5 charges.

The originator of this post stated "....with the cop in the crowd of oncoming traffice passing me".

In this situation the officer was obviously moving , therefore the radar/laser was being used in a "moving mode". The officer was also obviously going in an "opposite direction".

Only radar can be used in "moving mode-opposite direction". Laser was not designed to be used in this fashion. Laser can only be used in stationary mode. Cops aim laser at the licence plate of the car, something that cant be done if it was mounted on a dash board of a moving cruiser.

But you are correct, the officer is supposed to turn on the radar (or laser) after he observes a vehicle he suspects is speeding. But yes when the cop turns it on it can automatically lock on to the fastest target (as opposed to locking on to the strongest target). The Decatur VP directional for example can be programmed to do this.

If we are talking about non moving violations then thats one thing, those are usually easy to beat, but I have 2 friends both go through points for tickets very similar to mine and neither had there ticket dropped or even reduced.
