what is the penalty....

what happens if i get pulled over with an expired sticker? the reason i am asking is because i am going to be putting my car back on the road after 2 years in the garage and I cannot get a new sticker until I get my emmisions test done. but I need to drive to my emissions test! I would get a temp plate BUT if i take my plates wont come off, and if i do get them off i wont be able to put new ones on! (besides i like my plates!) Does anyone know the amount of the fine? I should be getting my emissions tomorrow.

The bigger problem is insurance.
If you don't have insurance on the car, DO NOT drive it to the test.
Heaven forbid you get in an accident, that would be costly.

your car will get impounded prolly, and the fine will be expired sticker & registration.

just put something over your plates, get a trip permit

here you go..

90 bucks i think...+ if no insurance, then your really screwed if you get caught! $5000 and up for that!!!! not worth it, insure it and temp it, problem solved.

*edit* - and if you have insurance then I would assume its just the 90bucks, plus the "victim surcharge" its like 10% of the ticket value...

$110 trust me

I would rather take the $110 and put it towards a tow truck.

I really don't understand what your trying to say re: your l.p.?

Do you have to hand them back in just to get temps? The bolts are rusted on and they're stripping when you try to take them off?
