What the hell $25.00 speeding ticket...

On the way to work in the morning and I just turned out of my street, I continued and then all of a sudden some dude jump out in the middle of the road. Honestly, I literally saw this cop dive up from the ground and ran onto the middle of the road so I stepped on my brakes. Now at this time im like WTF I would of hit this guy... Anyways, he said the reason I pulled you over is because you braked and I saw your nose of your car go down. This guy goes you were speeding, I said no i wasn't you jumped in the middle of the road. He goes to his car spends like whole 30 mins god knows what then comes back and gives me a 25.00 dollar ticket I guess with the taxes its like 40 bucks it says... and claims I was going 10 KM/H over.. WTF...

Next time don't brake.

Then have the police pay your deductible for the damages done to the front end of your car.

yeah dont just pay it. if ur insurance finds out about it. it goes up.

u paying it is kinda like a guilty plea. so ur insurance doesnt neccessarily go up but u loose ur conviction free dicsount...making it go up.

They give you tickets for 10 over? Where was this?

Also, does insurance go up for something that small?

a ticket is a ticket . it dosent matter its better u fight the small 1's u have a better chance of it getting thrown out . the judge will start getting pissed if they see too many 10km over tickets . then they will stop happening . if u pay ur making a mistake . what happend if u get 2-3 10k over tickets u wont be able to get insurance .

Mine was in the town of scugog. i was doing 70 and slowing down cuz i saw the cruiser. she marked it down to 60 in a 50. Insurance shouldnt care about that but we'll see...i have to switch companies this summer.

how do u noe her insurance found out about it?

they have to pull up an MVR. like when u get a ticket, it doesnt just go through to insurance. but say u renew ur policy or add some features or w.e nd u have 3 10 speeding tickets, not 3 5 KM over 100 KM/H speeding tickets, JSUT 3 speeding tickets ur insurance goes up

As everyone said, this is not a good idea. Insurance treats all tickets the same "minor speeding" if it's between 1 km/h over and 49 over. I had a ticket for 5 over, my insurance went up. Fight it.

Insurance doesn't get a memo or something every time someone gets convicted of a traffic ticket. They only pull your driving record once in a while, maybe at renewal, or if they ahve another reason to mess with your file (ie, you're adding another car / driver to the policy).

So it's not gonna go up right away. But it might after renewal. Maybe her company forgives the first ticket, but after that rates go up. If you switch companies it will affect it for sure too.

thats right it dosent just go up like magic , they have to eather have a reason to look it up or it gets stumbled upon by accident . but most ppl change there insurance some how over a 3-6 year time and thats when u get busted .
