you can learn a lot about the system doing it yourself.
you can get a paralegal if you have work constraints.
otherwise, go yourself, try and find out if the officer is there, if he/she is not, go speak with the prosecutor, plead guilty to 10 over.. the lower the better... but 14 and less is important as to avoid getting demerit points.
also ask the prosecutor if he can lower the fine... broke university student.. blah blah blah.... tell him about your financial woes and he can also drop the fine from the charge.

ticket
Get it remanded if you can or hope the officer dosn't show up. Depending on when it is and if it still works or not. I got a speeding ticket for 29 over in a posted 90 on highway ** but the officer wasn;t sure of my speed ... i wasn;t going that fast anyways. but he dropped it to 20 over so i said i'll see you in court you don't know how fast i was going .... the point of all this is that i never went to court ( in sudbury) almost a year later. He never showed... and i never got anything .. the fine was dropped ... no speeding ticket !!! .

just go to court, tell the prsecutor when u get in there that u wanna plea guilty to a lesser charge. The prosecutor will either be a women or man at the front of the courtrroom, when u first get there, a few people will be lined up behind the prosecutor to talk to them
