Amber light
(15) Every driver approaching a traffic control signal showing a circular amber indication and facing the indication shall stop his or her vehicle if he or she can do so safely, otherwise he or she may proceed with caution. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 144 (15).

Officer was cool with me, laughed with me about my [sarcasm] CLEAN [/sarcasm] driving record and talked about being an officer for a while. He was passenger in his undercover VW Golf if that wants to help you in your ways. ( North York area)
My question is, he came to the side of my window and instructed me to pull over, not once did he pop on his lights, is that a sign that he'll not show in court? is this ticket valid ( amber light )?, does it involve points if i ever do decide to pay it?

yeah there could be dermit points deducted, because it is a moving violation, and i think its about 3 points "failure to obey a signal light"
so i would think that is the infractoin, or does it actualy say what you failed to do?
but it is a moving violation
fight it!!!
pretty lucky though, most people i hear get teh red light one.

You have to prove that it was more dangerous to stop than proceed...
Car up your ***...
Brake problems...
Slick substance on tires..
ETC,ETC...
You get the idea...
Court for you...
Prolly won't show...

Interesting 94EG6HB,
A friend of mine who said his brakes were not good, and couldnt come to a complete stop because of his bad tires, and had to proceed.
Judge slapped him with the full price of the ticket explaining to him how he had to take care of his vehicle and it could be towed if his brakes WERE found faulty or if his tires didnt have enough thread on them, mind you, this was 2 years ago!
He appealed, 3 months later, he got the points dropped and the fine set at $110 or somewhere around there.
Different judge, different result IMO
Thanks, but i'll pass on the "brake problems"
oh oh, any idea on the points involved with running an Amber traffic light??

Just ideas...
I'm sure you can invent some better ones...
The point is to beat the rap "honestly"(cough,cough)..
Were you already in the intersection when it went amber...
Because you were proceeding with caution...

Not neccesarly. When you do your writen test and asked the question about amber light's..... The correct answer is "if possible to stop safely do so, or proceed with caution".
