Using a disabled permit without proper need...

Hi there
a few months ago i parked down town, half in, half out of a paid parking spot. I did NOT pay for parking (however on the disclosure it does not state weather i had or had not displayed a paid parking slip), and left the disabled parking permit i use to take my now deceased grandmother to dialysis every other day (legit permit and duty), though clearly she was not with me.

I am to appear in court on the 3rd and do not mind paying a fine, as i am guilty, but what can i do to minimize the penaltiy - i also must have a DL for my job if this helps. I have no criminal record or major traffic charges either.

Thanks
Matt.

Be honest. Normally just by showing up in Court they will minimize the fine. Say your sorry and whatever. Your not going to lose your lisence over this.. they will just give you a time line to pay off the fee.

its not a moving violation so it wont affect your drivers licence.

the only way you could lose your license is if you don't pay the fine

Just for anyone who's using this post in a search, the minium fine was 300, when i mentioned that i was very sorry, worked two jobs, one of them with disabled people...the judge knocked it down to 200! (sort of unusual). and gave me 2 months to pay.
