Unmarked Volvo S70 Cop car!!
Not sure if this is the right place to post this thread...
Anyways, just got back from Burlington,
To avoid traffic, I was taking Hwy 5 Eastbound.
Drove as normal...20 over the speed limit in the right lane (Posted 80Km/h)
A lastest Red Hyundai Accent passed me at about 110 Km/h...
We both saw a White Volvo S70 parked at the side street before the stop sign. Well who cares...it is just a Volvo with dark tints!
As we passed it, we both were driving as normal, in no time...Volvo shown up on the rear view mirror, passed me, started tailgating the Accent.
Accent decided to give it a go....tried to pull away from the Volvo!
Darn was the word I said, as I saw the Blinker started to flash from the Volvo rear windows and side marker....
Accent was caught in the act. he/she has no choice but pull over to the side...
Surprise, surprise...the Volvo was fast, and didn't know they have unmarked Volvo Cop car in the area.
For those who are frequently driving in that area...watch out for the surprises!
Take Care!

It is the first time I heard of Volvo's being used for Police. Chevy sedans, Camaro, Mustangs, hey who remembers the Astro Vans with the alloy wheels sitting on the side of the highway, during the Bob Rae era???

M5 cop cars...
Hrm..
an M5 cop car.. I don't think there's a chance you could out run those. In all likelyhood... those cars are definately faster than our civics Might as well pull over.
Besides.. if you try and out run them... <radio in to buddies> "Lay down the road spike strips"
Just a side thought.. would it be possible to modify a civic to the point where it was actually as fast as a McLaren F1? I wonder if the body of the car could support the pressure.

Re: M5 cop cars...
Well there are many civics that are faster than a Mclaren F1 for acceleration but as for top speed, i dont think there's a civic that has the proper gearing to do 230mph.

McLaren F1
Hrm...
I dunno man.. I don't think there are any civics out there with acceleration better than a McLaren F1.
Unless the person driving the McLaren F1 doesn't know how to drive Manual properly.
McLaren F1 has it's first gear redline @ 60 km/h. That's not that great but it offers GREAT acceleration. The thing has more torque than you can shake a stick at. It also possesses one HELL of a light body as it is made from many layers of melted carbon fiber. None of this carbon fiber for civic stuff. This carbon fiber they have is hand cut and then melted in layers to make a hard outer shell.

It was few years back...when the photo radar was still around. I once drove a rental Astro van and thought...hey let's have some fun..Had my X-girl friend with me. Parked the Van on the QEW Westbound shoulder before Bronte Exit. Took out my professional Flashlight. If I saw a fast car passed by...gave them a little flash click...99% of the time, the whole traffic flow will slow down, not to mention those speeders who were actually freak out , because they thought their plate was being taken!
Well the good old days!

Speeder getting smarter these days, and cops has to do the same to slow you down.
As for myself, I am always reminding myself not to go any faster than 20 above the speed limit. I've seen too many people get busted. Even my Dad got a "friendly warning" for his "Grandpa Driving style...55km/h on 40 zone". I am pretty sure if it was me who do the driving...I could have got a ticket for driving 15Km/h above the limit!
