Anyone know if its illegal or not? wasnt there something on CTV news showing them crushing two 89,90 civics with turbo? I know NOS is illegal for sure, but whats the deal with turbo's.. lmk

why would turbos be illegal? Stock cars such as the A4 come with them

a turbo is no more illegal than an intake is, police in toronto have been given alot of power and can pretty much say that anything improving the performance of the car means you are using your car for street racing. Those 2 that were crushed were crushed because they were both used in street racing incidents (I don't think both of them were turbocharged though, I don't remember) Every mod you do to your car is risky now, I say don't let it stop you and don't drive like an idiot.

A lot of stock cars came with a turbo from the factory. Hell I think mid 80's firefly had a turbo option.

Since I got rid of my 06 Civic EX (for a mini-van) I'm planning on buying a early 90'sRHD Toyota MR2 turbo soon.

its not that the turbos are illegal. its street racing. if you dont street race and your not carless driving then you should have no reason for the cops to pull you over.

if your car is a pile of **** or is heavily modified on the exterior then the cops will pull you over. dont think they've caught on to the whole sleeper look yet but. i plan on just restoring my car, stock height , body and repaint. its just getting stupid now.

and same if you have tvs everywhere they will wanna pull ya over to just to harass you and give you a hard time.

turbo's and nos are legal if set up properly

if your turbo and your car passes an e-test and has all the evap canisters and stuff hooked up then its lega. NOS is also legal as long as your insurance knows about it and you have a sticker for it displayed on your car. I believe your also not allowed to have it connected while driving on the streets.

im a certified emissions inspector. i can pass my car . yea i get puleld over 1-2 times a week. Never by marked cruisers, always undercover (not evne those dark blue crown vic's) im talking about mazda protege, chrysler intrepid undercover. i have every cop convo saved on my phone, in case of court or what not.

LOL. haha i felt the same way with my old hatchback i drove on 10 days for over a year then i got cut off cause they changed to that new rule. 4 trip permits per calendar year ****.

Nothing wrong with Turbo's or illegal about them, its when you street race is when ur car gets crushed, providing you get caught,,

they'll find a way to screw you if they want.

they'll harrass you if you didn't tell insurance.. they'll try to find an open vent.. exhaust is too loud.. emissions, etc. Dont drive like an idiot you'll be safe
