ok as the title says
in order to get better insurance
i'm "giving" the car to my dad and he's gonna b the sole driver of the vehicle

so i went to ministry and they said i need:

E-test (i did it a few months ago so i'm fine)
Safety (my speedo doesn't work so i'm worried )
Insurance (my dad has to first get insurance on it???)
We both have to sign an affadavit
Note saying he's accepting the plates

does this sound right?? I dunno about him getting insurance first and having the thing saftied, i don't think i'll get it

well whenever ownership transfers u gotta get it saftied and e-tested (speedo dont matter, I passed and mine dont work)...if you wanna drive the car yea, ur dad needs insurance on it, and u need insurance to transfer the plates (or u can just use your policy number at the ministry, they cant find out if its real or not) then after that ur dad can get insurance on it...and yea u both gotta sign the affadavit infront of that JP or whatever they have at the ministry there

and why would the MTO tell you a lie what is needed to do so?

yeah, don't worry about the speedo, my car passed saftey and my speedo didn't work either.
