Traffic Court tonight, need advice
Hey guys. I got 3 tickets almost a year ago at one time and today is finally my day in court. Only one of them was a speeding ticket (80 in a 60). I allready did the first attendance meeting, and didn't like what being offered. So, tonight I gotta trek out to scarbs for court. I'm gonna plead not guilty in the hope that the cop doesn't show.
He didn't have me on radar, the other two tickets are pretty much BS completely, 1 of which was the fault of the Ministry for screwing up my records.
If I didn't request for the cop to be there, and he doesn't show, is it still automatically dismissed (a buddy told me yesterday that you have to request for the cop to be there first, and if he don't show, then it gets tossed)? And if the cop does show, how will I get a chance to talk to him before? If all else fails what are my chances of saying I'm not ready t plead my case, and to schedual another appearence at a later date? Someone I know who is deeply involved with this stuff told me if I get another court date, 98% the cop won't show.
Any advice? I really can't afford $400+ in tickets and 3 points right now.

If the officer is not present at the time of your trial, the charges will be dismissed. When you arrive at the courthouse, go inside to the area outside the courtroom that will be holding your trial. If the officer is there, you will likely see him/her there, and can try to talk to him/her if you wish, but I not so sure they will be willing to help you out. In any case, the prosecutor will likely offer you a lesser charge and/or fine. Good luck to you.
BTW, it doesn't matter if the officer got you on radar, they can still give you a ticket by pacing you.
