Ticket for running a Amber light. Need Advice
Hi,
I got a ticket for running a Amber light. It's a 3 point penalty plus $180 fine if convicted. I don't really mind the fine, but I would love to be able avoid the point deduction. I contesting the ticket and was scheduled for court in May. I was thinking about doing it myself, but I am having doubt now. Should I hire one of those ticket fighter to do it for me? For of them only promise they will get rid of the fine but can't guarantee they can get rid of the point.
I read from the Internet that I should request for a transcript first and then ask for a reschedule. Hopefully, this will push the case push pass the 1 year period or generate to much work for the cop he don't brother to show up.
Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

you can actually get pull over and a ticket for running an amber light
it happened to me few months ago , i got a warning . But i know people that got tickets for doing that.
Most likely cops wont pull you over or anything but there are occasions where you can encounter an *** H O L E that just wants to give you a ticket.
It is a stu p i d law , because you have not choice but to beat an amber light when you are turning left . I'ts a money grabber for me , because everyone does it but if you are not lucky enough you may get a ticket for it

Sorry for not being clear in my first message, didn't have my coffee yet then. I am currently contesting the ticket, will be in court the first time in the coming May.
The light definitely amber, not red. The cops probably got nothing better to do and decide to pull me over and give me a ticket. Do you guys think I should hire a ticket fighter or representing myself in court?

Yea, that sucks bro, i hope you win, but yes, its not just that cop, i have seen so many times a cop behind a car making a left turn, everytime i have seen someone make the turn on the amber, the cops put up the sirens and pulled the car over, its something they ONLY do if they are at the right place at the right time, i.e if they are behind you and you make it a spoon to the mouth they will pull you over. And yes they pull over people for running ambers.
Dude you can easily fight this, there is a rule, you are allowed to cross amber, if YOU feel your best judgement indicates that while you noticed the amber light you looked in your rear veiw, and saw a car behind you, you judged that if you had stopped, the car behind would have hit you, so in order to avoid an accident you passed the amber light.
Now if the cop was behind you while this happened even better, the cop can't lie, you can say he was according to you too close for you to stop safely. The cop will ether have to say he wasn't close or was, if he says he wasn't close so you could have stopped, you can say, by the time you passed you had crossed the intersection 50% when it was amber, and by the time the cop noticed it you were almost 80% pass the intersection, and show them speed vs distance example. creat a reasonable doubt, if you do that there is no way in any law you will get the ticket.
best of luck, as for the tcketing guys, they will only be able to help you if you have a good driving record, if you have few tickets one or more, they will be a-holes about your file.

well the best thing you could say if he wanst behind you or even if he was is that you pass the amber light because you felt it was an ice road ( or too much snow ) and that by braking you would probably cause more damage than just passing it
make sure you know the speed limit on the street. It would just make sense , the judge would understand that by braking you could of loose control of your car or skid , therefore beating a red light anyways
weather is a perfect excuse nowdays

You ran an amber, not a red, relax and fight it.
It is winter, the roads are slippery, say based on your judgement, you thought it was safe to clear through the intersection instead of possibly skidding and stopping halfway impeding traffic or spinning out.
