ticket advice needed

Not for me, but for the g/f. She got a ticket for going 128 in a 90 from a Hamilton cop on the Linc, early this morning. She was on her way to work at Henderson Hospital, where she's a nurse. The cop didn't cut her a break even though they both were in emergency services, and he was apparently a real dick too, hasseling her about her plate covers.

Anyway, I have never had to go to the Justice of the Peace, and it has been about 10 years since I went to traffic court, so I don't know what to do. What can the J/P do? Lower the fine? Lessen the points? What should we say to the J/P? Should she go to Points, or one of those types of places? She was kind of hoping the J/P would give her a break because she's a nurse. What about a court date? Any chance of actually winning? She's all bent about her insurance going up. It's pretty cheap because of her profession. She has a fairly clean record. No at-fault major accidents, or tickets in the past few years.

The funny thing is, through the city she always speeds a bit, but get her on a major highway, 90 tops.

Thanks.Mike:cheers:

How did the the ticket work out? Did she go to court?

go to JP, plead guilty to a lesser charge... usually 15 over, so minimal fine and no points. points are assigned by the MTO based on conviction - so the JP can't lower points, only the charge.

good luck!
