Switching Insurance Companies
I am currently insured with Meloche Monnex, and I just got a quote from Bel-Air Direct for $1800 less than what I am currently paying, so I am considering cancelling my current policy and starting the cheaper one with Bel-Air but I have a few concerns.
The first is, does anyone have insurance with Bel-Air? Is it possible for them to raise my rates once I start their policy or what? Is it a reputable company? The second is, I will have to pay $251 to Meloche Monnex for cancelling the policy instead of waiting until August 18, it is still economically viable to cancel the policy but just barely, should I instead wait until August 18th? The third is, this must be too good to be true, $1800 saved- does anyone know if there is a catch? |
the online quote may not be accurate, u will need to fill in a proper form and mail it into them or fax I believe and then they will re-do it and go from there...the quotes are good for like 30days and thats all it is a quote or estimate if u will...fill out the paperwork and see what the new quote says

if it doesnt appear in writing, it doesnt exist. just like everybody said, you should have a quote in writing.

Belair is a tops company, one of the better ones for sure. But make sure you call and get a real quote, but in reality it shouldn't differ much from the online quote providing you were honest.
There may be a cancellation fee though if you cancel your policy early, may be better to ride it out. Also, try Chieftan insurance, for me they were 1/2 cheaper than the next lowest rate, plus they're policies are renewable monthly, so change/cancell at any time. |
