Succesful Ticket defences...
 

After listening to Al and his "Blue light" plight, I decided that we need a successful defence thread...

Anyone with a HTA ticket or other that got off post you particular's here. Detail is what were looking for, precident's cited would help as well...

This would help some club members in preparation for court and save some others a bunch of money thats probably needed elsewhere..

Nice idea. I would add something to this but the only times i've gotten off tickets was because of backlogs in court :thumbup:

I would help, but the only tickets I have gotten off, were because I know someone who is a metro cop. :wink:

Went to court......cop did't show......went home.:thumbup:

I pleaded guilty with an explaination.......(crown said that that type of ticket would probable get a suspended sentence...ie....no fine...slap on the wrist... if you have proof that it was changed)

So that's what I pled.....she said that if the cop didn't show.....they would just dismiss it.

The judge that day was pretty cool......one kid had an improper muffler......said he got it from canadian tire and that they didn't tell him that it was illeagal for street use.......told the judge that he changed it.....judge said "wow....another Honda with a muffler ticket".....the whole court room started to giggle......kid got off with a warning......told him to check next time, before anything is installed, that is is ok for street use.

Almost ALL of the tickets where either thrown out or reduced to a lower fine or had points removed.

Be polite.....say "Good morning your worship" (if it's morning).....bow while saying this. TAKE YOU HAT OFF WHEN YOU ENTER THE COURTROOM. Be honest to the judge......he can tell when your lying.

When guy was asked by the judge how he was pleading said...."Guilty as sin.".....judged smiled..........he later got off with only a $20 fine........what kind of ticket was it?.........left on a red......was 2 points and $110......he had a good day.

If you want to see how the system works, we should set up a "get together", like we do for Pac Mall......we can take notes for future court dates....
