sticker question

hi guys, just got a quick and simple question that i just simply can not wrap my mind around it. my sticker reads Oct. 08. i understand i need to renew it [duhh] now the question is, can i drive till october 30th with it? or does it mean that its not valid in october anymore. OR?! up until the owners birthday?

Buddah 02-Oct-2008 03:29 PM

basically means it's valid up until Oct 08. So, Nov 1st, you'd get a ticket if you're pulled over.

D.T.P 02-Oct-2008 03:30 PM

alright, awsome
sorry kinda sounded stupid but things like that usually when i try to guess, usually end up wrong :D
thanks!

Buddah 02-Oct-2008 03:31 PM

You are wrong buddah, you are only able to drive with it up to your birth date, any time after that you can get a ticket.

Isn't it the day before your birthday they run out? You need the new sticker on the day of your birthday? I remember a few year back, my buddie got pulled over on his birthday and got a ticket for not have a new sticker.

D.T.P 02-Oct-2008 05:01 PM

Lol thanks but the car is on my mom so happy birthday to her :)

ol Dusty 02-Oct-2008 05:15 PM

happy birthday to your mom. I hade a cop follow me on my birthday, old sticker he had long enough to run my plates/info he was at a stop sign near my girls house and I drove by twice. it's a one way street so I had to pass it and he gave me the eye. I came around the block, picked her up and then as I drove passed him he follwed me for 10 mins and then finnaly drove off. maybey I got lucvky he did't notice the sticker and just wanted to find outsatanding fines/tickets. I wonder if I could have said since my birth was at 7pm, that I was still technically 26 and on my way to get it before I officially turned 27? think he'd buy it?

if you get pulled over and the cars in your moms name would that effect her insurance? if so why would she let you procrastinate this long. I'm pretty sure she knew her birthday was coming.

D.T.P 02-Oct-2008 08:44 PM

yes but my dad told her that the sticker is valid till the end of the month :S

spike 02-Oct-2008 08:58 PM

No they are only good till the birth day, NO longer then that.

D.T.P 03-Oct-2008 06:19 AM

Yeah getting sticker today. And damn sticker prices went up 74 bucks now.
IMO its a bad system. You wanna get presents on your birthday not pay for lil ghay stickers. Also if you need emissions and you fail it just before your b-day that just sucks. Well but that's just me.

Sticker is valid until the end of the month. Happy birthday Mom!
A good gift to her is renewing her sticker dude! LOL

Licence Plate Sticker (Val Tag) - A validation sticker or tag indicates that a vehicle has been duly registered with the Ministry of Transportation and is legally licenced to travel the roadway.Below is an example of such a sticker (expiring December 1999).
Note that a validation sticker expires on the birthday of the registered owner of the vehicle. In the above example that would be sometime in December 1999. Once you receive your renewal, place the larger sticker on the top right-hand corner of your licence plate (back plate for cars, front plate for trucks) and the smaller sticker on your permit.

Can't get 2 year sticker since I work part time and if I do get the 2 year the no money for gas. And getting sticker for moms birthday um well its my car but on her name for insurance purposes. Lol. Yeah drove today to York with invalid sticker but I'm getting it in York today. Heard there is a kiosk here so its all good. Thanks for all the help, I would have probably gone for next Friday or so but don't want a ticket and I am a little bit paranoid about cops lol.
Thanks again
