speeding ticket 129 km/h
#22
I got nailed in August 2008 (9 days after I got my new SI) I was going 118km in an 80 (the set fine was $277 and 4 points) and I took the option and went to court. They had a set chart for what they would drop it to when I seen the crown before I went up before the judge. They told me to plead to 100km in an 80 and the set fine was $75 plus the surcharge of $20 for processing and 2 points.

They have a chart? lol So you pretty much you to plead guilty at 100 km/h because and they would let you go off at a smaller charge?
Basically they worked out a deal with you by you pleading guilty?
Yea dumbasSi I think I called that guy, but no answer. I believe i left a message. Ill try again.
Thanks again man!

Ultimately, getting the ticket dropped totally would be the best result.

From my experience take it to court regardless if ur guilty or not. Wen u take it to court the crown is automatically going to offer u a plead bargan. She is probaly going to offer u speeding wit no specific speed set, 0 demerit points and lower the fine. Thats what i do every time i get a ticket. But if you want to beat the ticket fully, thats where u hire a lawyer but its going to cost you at leat $1000. So those are your two best choices, i would juss go to court and take the plead bargain

Every time you get a ticket?
In New York State, someone getting three speeding tickets for any amount, points-bearing or not, in any 18 month period automatically has their driver's license suspended.
That's over and above the standard ticket penalty and state surcharges for each ticket. It's also over and above New York State's multi-year Driver Responsibility surcharge for those who receive repeated minor tickets of any kind or even just one serious ticket.
The beneficial traffic-calming effects of those laws combined with their tougher enforcement are quite apparent when you drive on their highways.
Ontario should implement something similar for serial offenders here.

I am not sure what you guys are talking about regarding taking this to court, because I got a ticket about 3 years ago for going 56km/h in a 40km/h zone, and even though I went to court hoping to get a lesser charge (since it was my 1st and so far only offense), I still ended up with my insurance going up.
I didn't get any points, which I was happy about, but when I tried to switch insurance companies, the c/s service rep told me that I have one speeding ticket on file, and, as a result, my insurance will be higher than initially quoted.
I am not sure what it is about going to court that helps in this matter.

Alright, thanks guys.
Now I got like 3 different telephone numbers for offense specialists, but I've already put my form towards the option 3 and pending for a letter to be received from the court. If I get this service will this effect my summon date or day? Or will they take care of it?

Depending on what strategy they want to use, they will need different documentation, etc, etc.
Most probably they will file for disclosure 5 times...lolz
Good luck bro

FiveO: While I truelly do apreciate some common sense in the forums from you... Understand that it's his right, as a canadian, to request a trial. Guilty or not, cops are not law makers/judges/jury, nor is their descion final. If someone wants to say this is what they do in the area 'blah' and they should do that here... screw you. Move there yourself. Or someone might say, there are less accidents on the autobahn, why don't we remove speed limits here?
However, it does sound like you had a nice officer, and you were driving like an assh0le. Although it's probably that time of the month, and the officer with the most tickets gets to win an easy bake oven, or w/e cops do, sounds like they weren't just generating revinue(sp?), and you had this comin'
1) Insurance is a private company... yet mandated by Ontario (go figure) so they will rape you in the a-noose with an charges you get.
2) Fight it. Don't let a cop deside your fate.
3) If you hirer a laywer they will go to court in your place.
Did you ever get to see the radar in his car stating you were going 133km/h as proof? I doubt they do that on the 400 series, for safety reasons... Here's a crazy idea, try and fight it on the grounds that it was an invasion of privacy, not once did you agree to the officer to monitor you electronically. lol
Good luck with your ticket.
