speeding ticket

I got a ticket for on the weekend drive to montreal. I was going 149km/h thankfully the cop borught it down to 129km/h and a $140 fine

this is my first ticket in 10+years - anyone know if this will bump up my insurance? (didnt want to say anything to my insurance company yet)

no point in fighting it..

Doesn't matter, your insurance company will find out anyways.
They have access to your records with regards to tickets. I think it will bump it , but not sure how much.

I think I might go to court - if it is a loss of demerit points, only bitch is that I'll have to go 4 hours to cornwall (doing 140? :-)

just checked MTO website

Exceeding the speed limit by 16 to 29 km/h = 3 points (YUCK)

Haha, yeah, you got to figure if it's worth the trip or not. And you may not get it reduced any further. BTW that stays on your record for 3 years. If you do fight it, worse thing that will happen is you have to pay the original fine.

if its been reported as 129km, cant you just go in and theyll drop it to 115??
so at least theres no demerit points.

i had a speeding ticket, 87 in a 60(going downhill into a speedtrap)
i walked in to fight it and the prosecutor guy read me my charge and was like "ok so i assume yuo want it dropped to 75?"
and i was like "uhh ok" dumbfounded that it was that easy
i paid like 50 dollars and that was it

First ticket on a fulll G license should have absoluely no effect at all on your insurance. In fact, most insurance companies will let you have 2 tickets free without fear of surcharge.

If you do go to fight it, you're looking at travel time and expense, plus if you lose you might find yourself being fined and assigned demerit points on the original before-reduction speed.

The cop cut you a good break. Take it and run.
