some cops

i don't understand whats the deal
im driving on Dundas and im beside a White Mini Van and a cop is behind the mini van
the speed limite is 50km and im going 50km the mini van is clearly going over 60 cause he just PULLS on me and the cop goes behind me and follows me for like 5 blocks

so i turn down thickson and go into the Rogers video to look at some PS2 games and he is right behind me
i get out and then he gets out and says
"Lisence and ownership and insurance please"

Me "what did i do wrong??"

him " When a cop asks for you information you give it to them!!!"

me "ah ok, i have my ownership and lisence but my mom has the insurance cause we are having it changed over"

him "you car looks alittle unsafe, little to low??

me "not really.. its still at legal height"

him " you have anything changed under the hood??"

me " just intake"

him " Does your insurance know about you putting proformance things on your car?!?!"

me "Yes i send them pictures of it whenever i change something"

him "SO, if i called them right now they'd know right?!?!?! but you don't have your slip on you..."

me "yes sir they'd know.."

him "ill be right back.."

as he is walking back to the car a cavalier FLYS big with a big RACTIVE exhaust it shook everything in my car and my stomach

comes back with a ticket for 55 plus 15 for surcharge for not showing insurance

now what confuses me is that he never had his lights or horns going and i was in rogers parking lot and half way between my car and the rogers door when he got outta his car

is that possible for him to still say he pulled me over??

imported_gatherer 13-Feb-2003 09:57 PM

take it to court, he handed you a ticket for 5 over the limit???

man that sucks... sometimes I wonder about why this happens.

what sort of point was the cop trying to prove by doing that... I mean if the mini van was pulling away from you wouldn't the cop be wize to chase that dude?

CiViC [-_-] BoY ™ 13-Feb-2003 10:01 PM

no i didn't get a speeding ticket
he thought my car was "unsafe" and modded

imported_gatherer 13-Feb-2003 10:05 PM

well what was unsafe about the car on the ticket ... what section of the HTA did he say you were in violation of that has to be on the ticket.

CiViC [-_-] BoY ™ 13-Feb-2003 10:12 PM

he didn't give me a ticket for unsafe
but thats what he was asking me about

did you even read my first post???

it was for not showing insurance slip

imported_gatherer 13-Feb-2003 10:18 PM

ok ok I'm a moron I read it once and got the idea you got a speeding ticket... you said no to that so I read it a second time top to bottom (just like the first time) and got the idea it was for an unsafe car as per your respond to my speeding ticket post... and now ok I finially get the Idea... civic boy I give you permission to permenantly label me a moron in your books ... because I've decided to label myself that...

CivicOverdose 13-Feb-2003 10:20 PM

hey same thing happened to me, i'm in my dads car, doing about 80, ( yes i know, to fast =) )

but anyways, this guy in a civic (lowered about 2 inches, i guess with a loud ass exhaust) starts following me, don't ask me why.....

he's probably doing around 70, cause i start pulling away. I come to my street and i signal to turn right, and i look behind me... i see red lights and the guy in the civic pulls right behind me. Cop pulls him over...

i nearly pissed my pants, but of course i didn't
:shower:

i never saw the cop, and i figured if someone was to get pulled over, it would be me, since i was doing 80 at least.... but instead the civic got pulled over....i know if i was driving in my car, i would've been pulled over to....

ps: i know speeding is bad :richslap: , i learned my lesson

i think its cause of lack of work you know (most of the time)
there not much going on in Durham so they are like next to Peel Police but not as edgy lol

Sorry to here about your troubles, I was at the interesction last night getting gas. I understand why you got the ticket but if he had no reason to pull you over in the first place I think it's unfair. I would take it to court or the JOP with the insurance slip.

I lived in Whitby for 18 years and now it starts getting bad, thank god i'm living in the bonnies now.

CiViC [-_-] BoY ™ 14-Feb-2003 09:02 AM

yeah i know eh
and i know why its getting bad
its from all my friends that go to that Coffee time :( they are cool ppl but sometimes i just wanna kill them sometimes :shooter:

Me "what did i do wrong??"
I think thats where it went wrong.

...(scott) "yes sir right away".

Stupid but you have to play "their game"...
They can write you 10 tickets then go home...your left screwed.
Court dates, time off work....and he shows up to get paid...

:shrugs:

PULOVR 15-Feb-2003 02:15 AM

Go to court.....say the same thing you said to the cop, but this time to the judge. Make sure you have ALL the papers this time for proof. If you can get a letter from the insurance as to the reason of the "no paper" thing, get it.

Should get thrown out.

imported_1sicsol 15-Feb-2003 11:04 PM

Ohhh..

I just went through this and I got off...
Call the number on the back or go into the office and ask for a "First attendce meeting"

Bring your VALID INSURANCE SLIP then say you forgot it at the time and just kiss some ass....

I did it and got off.

($80 fine)
:bling:

Wanna hear a weird story? well long - short story.

Cops came to my house handed me a summons to court for my plates. It says driving vehicle with out proper plate..

Basicaly he says he saw me driving the car without a plate, but he didn't have a time to pull me over so after an hour he saw my car parked infront of my house. Then i hear someone knocks on the door, ME i opened it ofcourse "It's a policia" lol so ya that's what he did he gave me a ticket for that.

so funny he even ask for a drink :D so ya i gave him a drink. done he took off

There not allowed to call your ins. company, that's harassment. Since your not braking any laws they can't do that, so what if you have aftermarket product's on your car but didn't report them. The only thing that happens is if your car is stolen you don't get those "uninsured" part's replaced. There is no law regarding aftermarket part's.
