ok i took my dads friends car to work today (99-04) stang.. long story short.. my dads car was with the other guy.. and on my way home i was drivin along and at the light i took off a little hard and the wheels spun.. and about 5 seconds later a cop came runnin outta the first house (rutherford and madoc) and pulled me over.
It was him and another cop nice guys i can say.. he said u were just carelessly drivin there.. im not lying here.. but that stang was fallin apart (and yes all 4 tires were at the wear bars). So he asked for the usual i gave him my license and i was lookin for the ownership/ insurance.. once i found it handded it over and he said it was expired. i told him this isnt my car and its the first time i have ever drivin it.. so he said ok. ill be back. So he started chating away with his other cop friend in another car. i waited about 15 mins or so until they came back out. first they gave me a scare that i could have gotten a careless drivin ticket for like 3gs and 6 points i believed he said.. but hes like ill be nice to u because you were being honest (which is cool). the first cop gave me a ticket for unessary noise (for the 5 seconds ... ) thats 110 and the other ticket was not valid insurance for 60 bucks ... i plan to pay for both of them but.. the cop said i could take the insurance to court and show them my insurance card. In my opinion i should make the owner of the car pay for that. What should i do.. i know im paying for the first 1 (unessary noise) since it was technically i caused that but the tires were crap and for the other ticket should i make the owner pay. And i dont have time to go to court. Or should i just pay, cuz i work about 50-60 hrs a week and work is pretty tight right now.

5 seconds is kinda long dude...count it out with me, 1 mississippi, 2 mississippi, 3 mississippi, 4 mississippi, 5 mississippi....guess thats justified, I got the same ticket for invalid insurance card saturday night driving a car that wasnt mine but I guess its up us (the person going to operate the vehicle) to ensure all proper paperwork is present. Then again, you would hope for the cop to give u a break

i took it to court the cop never showed and it was thrown out

You pay the first ticket, and get the owner of the other car to go to court with ya, and show them the insurance/ownership, and the court should drop the ticket

I find this wierd, i got pulled over last week going west on steeles just passed pine valley under the bridge and the cop showed me the radar and i did 87 on a 60 zone. Well i give him my insurance and ownership with my license. There are two cars in front of me that were pulled over also. About 15-20mins later, the cop hands out tickets to the two cars and when he gets to me, he gives all my stuff back and actually said " i wont give you a ticket but im giving you a warning, please dont drive fast again". Now i still wonder why ddnt he give me a ticket? Im glad i ddnt receive one but it bothers me why he ddnt. Any guesses?

Maybe he or she was getting tired of writting tickets, or getting a bit cold and wanted to warm up a bit in the car? who knows.

I consider myself very lucky not to get a ticket.

i just got my dad to call the owner of the other car.. but he isnt picking up.. my dad said i should pay the noise ticket becuase it is my fault (which it is and i dont mind) but the other ticket i wont pay because my dad is like we gave him a "legal car" mean while we got an unsafe vehicle "illegal" ill give u guys a heads up when the guy picks up his phone. Plus i wont have time to go to court. and about gettin the insurance/ownership... i dont think that car can get a legal insurance slip w/o a safety (i could be wrong) .. and there no way that thing will pass w/o repairs. On a side note i was gonna show the cop my dealer insurance but i rather not risk that either because they could say you are ripping a customer car.

i think you should just buy a richard nixon mask and beat him one day when he walks out of his house, and then take his money.
even tho it is the drivers responsiblity to have proper papers...
