screwed by insurance... go figure....
so today i got a letter saying i'm cancelled from insurance... awesome news eh
so there reason is that i had a no payment ... i'm like odd i had like 280 in my account around when they usually take it out... my policy says its supposed to be 220 something a month so i thought i was well taken care of there...
so i'm wondering what the beef.... well they upped my rates without telling me... i hadn't actually checked but they've been taking 296 a month out...
so i'm wondering is there anything i can do here?? i'm gonna call them tomorrow when i get home from work and see whats the deal here

If they didn't notify you in writing then I don't think they are allowed to up the amount of money that they withdraw from your bank account. Call your bank first and check that, if thats the case then get on the phone and yell at them ( after checking all unopen envelopes in your desk ).

I would definitely do the same thing...start looking around for another insurance company.
I recently found out that the college I graduated from has a discount for alumni, with an insurance company...Maybe something like this could apply for you
Worth checking into though...

i went to humber and actually my good news is that i did graduate... finally found that out today after like months and months of fighting... so thats good... i dont eve nwant to deal with this crap though... and if they dont take back my non payment thing against me i'm pretty un insurable just cause that is on my record.... motivates me to drive without insurance though... i mean if my car got broken into i would go through insurance, if i got in an accident i wouldn't go through insurance... i mean the only thing i would use insurance for is if some retard runs infront of my car and i get nailed with a million dollar lawsuit from the parents of that kid for his stupidity... such a **** off though

Here's some inside info that you may want to know. If you are shopping around for insurance - try and get a broker to check the autoplus report on you. Autoplus is the information gathering agency that the Insurance companies are starting to use. It gets updated quarterly, so you don't have to claim that your insurance was a cancelled right off the bat. You can also take the issue up with the Insurance company's ombudsman. Write or call the person and state your case.
I was turned down by a broker, I had once called my insurance company a couple of years back, about the possibilty of making a claim (some crackhead broke into my car - my work comped, so I didn't follow through). Since I didn't file a claim, and didn't receive any compensation, I thought I was claims free. WRONG!
Turns out, if you just call to discuss the possibility of a claim to your insurance company, they generate a report.
Here's the icing on the cake... Your insurance company may say that you're free of liability, and no monies are paid out. They say - "oh that will not affect your rating" - but they will not tell you that for 2 phone calls, they will "claim" they expensed $$$ (in my case $380) so you still are a liability. You're Fu*(ked anyways.
Wonder what you pay your premiums for huh?
