aha word. so true. oh and along the lines of if a vehicles performance mods pass a safety inspection, the only thing that mechanics check under the hood for a car to pass a safety is the fluid levels, exhaust leaks, fluid leaks and thinks such as your PH level in your coolant and its freezing point. And obviously they wouldnt pass a car if it had nitrous, but besides that nothing else is checked. Thats where a cop might not know that you can have a turbo, or might see some "engine bling" under your hood and consider it an illegal modification. as for suspension if you can turn the wheel all the way and nothing touches, then your good, as long as your not scraping with every little bump you go over, your good, as long as your camber/toe/caster isnt out of control then your good.

honestly as its been said they are not illegal, i have taken police foundations and am going through to be a cop, dont get me wrong i got **** on my car i know isnt legal. But i just read this and thought let me look and in the hta there is nothing about hieght of your car or coil overs. Im sure as has been stated that if you have coil overs and there is bolts missing or the spring is flopping around they will ticket you but that is just common sense!!
