Reduced speed?
I recieved a speeding ticket back in October. The officer said that he clocked on me on radar at 65km/h in a 50km/h zone. But he also said that after I passed him I was accelerating up to 74km/h until he turned on his lights.
On the ticket it says 65km/h in a 50. But from what I read on this board the officer's tend to put a "R" on the ticket to indicate a reduced speed. I can't seem to find it; any particular place where it should be? I recieved disclosure today and according to the officers notes: he indicates that it was 74km/h in 50 according to his radar. And that he reduced it to 65. 2 things: What speed will they use at trial and if I lose will the prosecutor bump it back to 74? Does Peel regional police have cruiser mounted laser detectors yet or is just the tripod models? TIA |
they have dash mount, hand held and tripod

i'm gonna half to defend peel cops and say they are nice ppl......and very fair officers........i don't think any of those guys have any biases.....they are a pretty laid back kool force.......
Guns Drawn?....common i find that unlikely........where were u? what part of Peel? |

I always thought laser can't be hand held since the slight motion of the officer's arm offset the laser angle. yes I am sure...they use more than laser radar, they still use conventional radar...I'd drive by 20 traps a day while I was delivering parts...thankfully they knew my car and knew I was a delivery person and let me go faster than most people...Peel Cops Rule! |
I went to court on Friday:
After doing 6 hours of research plus wasting $40 on pictures, diagrams, and FOIA. The officer doesn't even bother to show up :(. The prosecutor seem confused when I dragged in a bankers box filled with paper for a $50 ticket :D . As for radar: the Peel police used a 10 year old Decatur (Genesis) radar unit. Thanks for your help Cynikal. |
