hey,
do the red light cameras flash you if you are turning left? I was at 401 and eglington turning left.. no one around except some other cars going straight I think and i turned left and it flashed twice? does that mean me or some cars going straight? I have never heard of people turning left getting flashed?
Since its a company car ( not my civic its a mx-3 which Im insured on) they will get the ticket if there is one and ill have to fight it I guess. It was yellow as I got in the intersection so I dont see why.. I hope not

It probably took your picture because it sensed something moving through a red. You were legally clearing the intersection though, so most likely the cop who reviews it will throw it out. Hopefully your speed was low enough that it's obvious you were stopped waiting for a turn.

old thread but i'm adding this for the benefit of people who might search..


red light cameras in toronto and mississauga (i don't know of many in sauga aside from derry + dixie) work the same, not sure about other areas.

they ONLY go off if you cross the line into the intersection AFTER the light is red. the yellow can be as stale as you like and it will still not catch you. also, it does not work for left turns at all, but please don't run reds while turning left, that'd be REALLY STUPID

so to summarize, as long as the light was yellow or green when you ENTERED the intersection, you are fine. i push yellows at these things 4-5 times a day on my deliveries.
