Red Light Camera Ticket - what to do?
 

So I received one of these Red Light Camera tickets two weeks ago in the mail, and would like to fight or at least reducing the fines I have to pay. I'm planning to go to the court tomorrow and see what can I do.

The first option, which is the "Trial Option" stated that "you or your representative may meet with a prosecutor in advance of a trial". Just wondering has anyone gone through this and do I meet the prosecutor right after requesting a trial date or on the actual trial date?

you would have to set a trial date, where you would choose guilty with an explanation..and you would get a trail date in the mail...on the day of the trial go early to court aand they let u know speak to the prosecutors 10 min before the trial...there if you give them a good reason, u can bargain a reduction..where they might say okay plea guilty and we;ll ask that u dont get points off...really, with camera tickets, its like gettin speeding ticket with lasers..u cant fight it...best thing is to give an exxcuse and get a reduction. no point hiring an agent if ur going to plea guilty cuz they gonna do da same thing ur gonna do and they charge u like 200-300 jus to do that...good luck

if not call xcoppers and they'll ask u to fax in ur ticket...then they;ll call u back and give u a free consultation

Thanks. Already called Pointss and XCopper however both of them don't fight camera tickets. I'll see what happens in court tomorrow.

I don't belive there are any points for red light camamra tickets, simlar to the old photo raadar days. There is no way to tell who is driving the car. tickets are issed to you under your license. This goes to the owner of the plate. I don't even think insurance can find out.

i may be wrong but you are not going to see the prosecutor today...

You first have to get a court date which may take up to 5 months (depending on the city) , sometimes even longer ( i been waiting for one for 9 months) ... Then on court day you could weat a dress shirt and dress pants..

I wouldnt go on dress shirt and pants to get a court date , in toronto the room gets too hot !! and the waiting time to get a court date can be as much as 2 hours

Met the justice of peace/prosecutor (whatever you call it) today. Got the fine dropped and deadline extended. In and out time was approximately 2 hours.
