rear ended by a White VW Jetta

hey guys i got rear ended by a white vw jetta yesterday at around 6:40 pm driving southbound down kipling ave by northqueen. i pulled into a parking lot which was about 4 feet from where i got rear ended and the guy who rear ended me sped off!! There were Two white males aged my guess 23-24 in the car. i couldnt even get his plate number in time so if anyone knows anything or hears anything PLEASE let me know as they caused $1800 worth of damage. Rear bumper was dented in any exhaust system was ripped right off the car.

I tried that before in a previous accident I had with an Integra, and the girls proceeded to press on the gas pedal and hit me with the car.

There is always a chance they'll take off. Always call the cops if they do. Use your common sense, if they look nuts or like they want to kill you, don't get out!

ya i called the cops right away when it happend. i think i will print off that pic and keep it in the car for future cases if needed lol!! ya i looked at the car more closely today and the trunk is also bent in a bit but ya that will have to be fixed, new bumper, and try to salvage my stainless blitz muffler as well as all of the stainless going upfront. but ya if you guys hear anything let me know!

Get on the local VW boards and check it out. Maybe start a fake thread telling people that YOU did the same thing, and look for advice. Maybe the guy will read it and be dumb enough to confess his story!

also might want to move this thread so no one car see it, incase they come on here looking.

What do you mean how could he not get the plate? He tried to get out of the way of traffic, now he's made a right and his back is to the road, check the mirror and buddy's taking off. I don't know about you, but the furthest I can see a licence plate is about 30 maybe 40 feet? Plus the adrenaline going. I don't blame him for not getting the plate.

When I was in an accident, for some reason I couldn't determine if the truck was a Nissan X-Terra or Pathfinder. Now I know they're similar, but with the "commotion" you lose sight of the little things...

when someone hits you... the first thing u do is try to pull into a parking lot?
you don't get out and see happened? you don't look at your car? you don't look at his car?

did you talk to the guy (OP)

when he drove off, why wouldn't u say.. **** he's driving off.. i better try to get a license plate number ...
if it was hard enough to dent the trunk that means it went thru the bumper (jettas have low front ends)
also, do you have pics of the damage, how did you find out it was $1800? are you going thru insurance? what did the police say? do?

this is the one

insurance is covering everything fully and car is being repaired tuesday so until its done im stuck with the rental! when i brought it to the body shop today and the guy was taking pics, we both discovered that the Jettas last 4 digits of the plate number were indented into the bumper so i called up the collision center and they are going to run a search on those digits and try and match it with the jetta so hopfully everything works out with that but like everyone else is saying to me it could have been alot worse. atleast i didnt get whiplash so i lucked out with that!
