you can always try that insurance quote thing on the Subaru website to give yourself an idea of what you should be paying.

i tried it, used my 06 Si versus 08 STI. the STI was cheaper to insure.

1 month under my name only. I was driving a car as a second driver long time ago but 1 month is being alone (primary and only driver)

they usually go by continuous insurance anyways though, it shouldn't matter if you weren't primary really.

shop around. i was looking at buying a 2004 Mustang Mach 1 back in 2004 (I was 23 at the time) and I had insurance quoted ranging from $330 to $660, clean driving record, 7-8 years insured history.

The bottom line is, can you afford paying this much a month? If you can, no sweat. If you can't, either shop elsewhere, or give up the car, or insure under your parents again.

That's a lot of money for insurance. Not to mention car payments. But hey. You're young...shop around. Try RBC. Maybe look at a lower trim level or even a different car. In a few years, with a clean record of course, you'll be paying a third of that for the "same" car.

Not even. In months my insurance went on half price down. When I change a car, it went up a little an then in few month down again. The key is to stars - for beginners there is always bad prices on insurance.

HAHA!! $618 dude???

My wife got her G1 in March of 2008 (Her old one expired), she got her G2 May of 2008 (So within 2 months), she just bought an 05 Corolla and her FULL COVERAGE insurance is $260/mth for a 6 month term at which time the broker will re-evaluate and there's a high probability that her rate will then decrease.

Want my broker's phone number?
