Rate my insurance cost

Brand new 2008 Honda Civic SI
2 doors
Under 25
Car is registered to me (Not a second driver)
G2
No accidents
Drive to work

$618 per month. Good deal or no?

DumbasSi 13-Apr-2008 07:20 AM

Bad? That is more then my car payment and my insurance for my 07 Si combined. I would shop around.

k_r_a_c_k_e_r 13-Apr-2008 08:20 AM

$7416 a year?.. are you nuts??

my car isnt even worth that much.

hula_balu 13-Apr-2008 08:45 AM

i bet thats more than your lease/finance payments for the car? i would never pay that much for insurance...

my advice return the car get an old 4door civic for now or something cheap.

ditch the coupe and get the si sedan and see that rate plummet. 618 is rediculous

Thats alot, but the 2 door, being under 25, and only being a G2 drive does not help at all. I would look at other place. Who this quote from? State farm?

civicEJ1 13-Apr-2008 09:33 AM

ouchhh is that including any coverage? theft fire?

im 17 with a g2 principle of my car and im payin 3600 a year and all i have is liabilty (onlything manadatory) oh yea i drive a 93 civic si 2 door coupe soooo iunno

eh my mom works for an insurance company and she preaches about it al lthe time,
and the reason this guys insurance is so much the top reason is because its an 08 car. then u can look at his age under 25 brand new car thats where it kills u...grab like a newER car not brand new and juss put the money into it

si_ponz 13-Apr-2008 10:25 AM

still deff. shop around, buddy of mine just got an 04 mazda 6, hes payin 650 a month, but we are 19 and that has full coverage and he only has his g2, me on the other hand pay about 200 a month for full coverage on my car (primary driver) 00 civic coupe SE...and that is from state farm, so i would look around, maybe if you had your G your insurance would go down a great deal...i have my G but i donno how it could drop that much...

try belair direct their rates are ok

suno_eg 13-Apr-2008 12:31 PM

Way too much!

Try Desjardins insurance.
My insurance person (good friend) told me thats the best insurance for young people.
Also try 'The Personal'

viper_2_4 13-Apr-2008 01:15 PM

way way way way too much....

It's probably only partially the car, probably the company your with doesn't want to insure you ...

It's not bad for a 16 or 17 year-old with little or no insurance history.

"Under 25" leaves a lot of room for potential rate ******. How much under 25?

And how many years have you been licensed?

How many years of insurance history, even as a second driver on your parents policies?

How many tickets?

Driver education certificate yes or no?
