Question About Going to Court
Recently got a ticket for failing to display both plates. To make a long story short I had the plate on with zip ties until one broke, so instead of letting it hang there I took it off so that I could install it another day. Between those two days I got the ticket, told the officer what had happened and he gave em a ticket. Anyway I was wondering whether or not it makes a difference if I go to trial and "Plead Guilty with an Explanation" or Just "Go to trial" The back of the ticket has both options.
Just wanted to know, if I choose to plead guilty with an explanation and the cop doesn't show do I still have to pay a fine? Or does that only apply if I choose just to go to trial? The officer gave me the indication that if I take it to trial he won't show.
Thanks guys, this is my first ticket so I am not really sure.

alright.. WHen I call do I have to tell them right away which option I am choosing? Whether it be to plead guilty with an explanation, or go to trial? Either way I am going to Court just not sure of the procedure.

Yeah I jsut called... it said on the ticket to save time I could call to book an appointment, but I called and I have to go in person. Luckily its only a 5min drive from where I work Alright so Looks like I'll be booking one. From what I hear it will be months and months away.
