Question about fighting tickets in court... plz read

If you go to fight... say an improper muffler ticket in court, and the cop dosent show up... is it dismissed completely.

now, if the cop shows up, you have to have a good plan... correct?

And... is there any way they can make the ticket bigger if i lose... or can they just make me pay the max $110..

any help would be appreciated.

just argue that ure exhaust is legal blah blah and that it isnt loud, and well under the allowed dB limit in Cali ( supposedly the hardest state for modification laws)

if u go to court, most certainly ure getting ure ticket reduced in half if u just show there and dont say a word!

now if u argue, he'll just dismiss it if u have valid points.....
and no, u only pay the total that comes up to ure mail...... $110-130

and yes, if he doesnt show it, it is dismissed
there are exemptions, like today at court, a young guy who had a 'vette was doing 137 in a 50 zone or something along those lines, and the cop didnt show up, and he asked for a dismissal, and the judge refused dismissal and charged him for careless driving!!!

well, you could always argue that its not improper and that u got the muffler from "meineke" a year ago since yours fell off on the bumpy highway....blah blah ( insert exaggeration here )

if the judge shows no remorse, then always say you are the poor student with no job act

its always worth a try

a definate chance of a) getting it dismissed or b) reduced to atleast 1/2
GOOD LUCK MAN!

btw which region was this ticket issued?
