Past due tickets...

Hey guys, i have an issue. My license is suspended now  And i need to pay this ticket which i totaly forgot about, which is now at about 400$ +150$ fee to get the license back.

My question is can i pay the ticket in a settlement plan with the city or is that not possible?

I hope it is, when i was living in Montreal, i did get nuff parking tickets, at around 800$, and i did get a plan to pay so much evry 2 weeks.

I hope its possible here!

Thanks fr you input guys!

You don't say what the ticket is for, but at $400 it's probably an HTA charge (rather than a parking ticket, etc). If thats the case, then you can't make an arrangement with the city, because it's not the city you will pay. I believe your in debt to the Ministry of Transportation.
The MTO won't allow you to make installments. I have known people who paid their tickets but only paid the "fine", not the "total payable" and had their licence suspended. So it dosnt matter how much is owed. If they don't get the money, your licence will not be reinstated.

I think you have to go to the court building to pay the fines. I'm sure you could pay x # of $ each week, but you won't get your lic. back until the amount owed is paid.

Well i went to the court (edward's and universtity) and fill in for a re-opening, and sure enough, spoke with a Justice, struck out the ruling of the case, set a court date for may, and now i just have to pay the 150$ fine to get my license back!

He was great, at first, they made me fill in an extension form, went to see the Justice and he said i didnt have the right form, so had to go back, fill in for re-opening, went back to the Justice, and he explained to me that the reason they gave me the other form is because, in his words; "they will get there money, but i dont give a ****! You are in all your rights to ask for a re-opening" And i am NOT kidding! That is exactly what he said. Then he mention on how i should do in court to try to reduce the speeding ticket, and mention hoy the officer issuing the ticket forgot to mention something on the ticket itself, so he said maybe they will rule it out because of it. Also mention to talk with the prosecutor and not the officer in any case.

So all in all, was a pretty good man there.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar?
