Parking Tickets infront of HOME?!
 

My problem is Im not allowed to park my car on my sidestreet road between the hours of 7am - 6pm. I live in a fairly big house, there are 3 other drivers in the house. If i park in the lower half of the driveway, they give me a $50 ticket. If i park on the road, its a 30$ ticket. A temp. solution would be to get a street parking permit, the only problem is Parking Permits are NOT available for my street.

There is absolutly NO reason to have 'no parking' signs on a sidestreet with NO thru-traffic. How Can I complain to the city of toronto to have these signs removed? I live in East Scarborough

I am so with you alot lol. I hate parking ppl lol. Not trying to hate parking people but I couldn't give out a parking ticket at all I would be like hey move it or I give ya a ticket. Something stupid but I hate them lol.

If you have good neighbours, ask them to use their driveway over-night and move it first thing in the morning. And when it snows like a SOB, help them shovel it before they're up. They will appreiciate that kind of gesture.

scarborough doesnt have any parking spots actually on streets.

remember the problem i had, similar to yours, well, i went to the city, and they said they won't give me a damm side street permit, so basically they gave me a ticket without warning, and then i go to get a permit, and they won't even give me that, assholes so i have to move cars all the time now.and you know WHY, they think people are stupid, because they made the width of the neighbourhood street smaller or shorter then the average lenghts, so more houses could be built in this one community, and some bigger houses have larger wider streets, fuks.lol


and for those who were hating on my thread about the ticket i got for the sidestreet, well it was on the radio 4 days after i got the ticket, that there was a new law for my area, in addition, to that cars would be towed if it was on the side stree ANY time it was there during snow plow, and that it is illegal to park on the side street for us between 2am to 6am, and certain days of the week in the evening.

all these laws are just to make things easier for government and its services, not its citizens and people, we work for the government it dosen't work for us, lazy ass snow plowers.

parking on the street makes neighbourhoods look cheap and run down...you actually pay taxes not to park on the street...and yes, lots of new developments make their roads less wide than they used to which allows for more houses and land for you the homeowner...when I lived in oakville I racked up almost 500bucks on year in parking tickets because we had 5 cars in the house and it was a constant car moving event and if one got forgot on the street overnight BAM ticket...so one night I waited for the parking dude, told him off and he went away for a while...then they sent a new person to work our area and they left me alone for a while but they always come back to get you...you just have to deal with it

you know what i was thinking of waiting for the city lady to come by, i seen her during summer time she came exactly or around 2am, but other than being cold and me having to wake up at 7am to go to work i didn't try telling off the person as she was a women.

after we all got denied the parking permit, few of us neigbours got together to go to court for the first and only ticket so far we got, and after that i gues we just have to be careful, i guess, because what you mentioned does add up all the Why's we had in mind.

can't complain though at least we get the larger homes, and longer lots, didn't actually notice that till you mentioned it.

btw why do they offer city sidestreet permits if they don't want to give them out.lol or is it for certain places where its just impossible to park.

they offer permits for guests...so if your friends stay over you call in and get an overnight permit for them (no paper, it just gets marked in the system so they leave the permitted cars alone)...they wont issue a full-time permit for residents of the neighbourhood

Would they know if you call in every night as a guest with the same plates?!? Lol.

ohhh so, its not really a permit, more like temporary parking ticket, i thought it was a proper official permit, like the disabled ones, where you buy it and stick it or hand it some where in your car for good.

oh well nice to know, i guess im getting used to it.

I racked up $200 in one month when I lived in London. Started some serious weekend drinking with some friends, and totally forgot I left my car on the street. bam over night ticket, then my meter ran out of time ticket when I went to pay that overnighter at the parking place. WTF!! :crutch:can't win for losing

No parking tickets are city by laws not HTA. If you don't pay them, then the MTO won't renew plates or stickers.
