Parking Ticket, can it be fought?

Hey guys. Me and buddy went to Duff's for wings tonight and he parked his car on a side street. It was at like 9:00 PM or so. We didn't see any "no parking" signs. There was also 1 or 2 cars parked there as well. When we came back to the car less than an hour later he had a $40 (i think) parking ticket. Can the ticket be fought somehow?

Yup, you can book a court date at the addresses on the back of the ticket. You got 15 days to do so.

I'm pretty sure it's only 7 days for the early fine, and 15 days to set a trial date

not seeing the sign is not good defense. thats ignorant of the law. i think u must prove the sign not plainly visible, or just not see-able. my friend got off a park tix after he showed the court a pic of a half buried sign covered in snow.

Is it a municipality ticket? or a law enforcement ticket? I got one form the traffic municipality people and I called them up and they reduced it to half.

But we got there after 9 pm. Like 9:30. And I didnt see a sign, or a meter. Like it was a side street. the closest street on the right of the resteraunt. Only sign I saw was no standing, but that's different.

If there is no standing, then logically that would mean no parking. If you are not allowed to stop and wait there (standing), then how can you be allowed to park there.
