The best solution to solve parking ticket probelms is:
When you get a ticket, pay it online (then you still have the ticket in your posession) everytime you park outside you house and you know you have a chance put the old ticket back on your wiper. That way when the lazy meter maid drives by he already figures he got you. They won't get out and re check.

^Not necessarily true. They usually have a certain zone they patrol, so if you have a ticket already on your windshield and it was his first trip out in that zone, chances are he'll stop and check it.

I called the city and they said the ticket was not a result of a neighbour complaining. They told me that the parking guys are "cracking down" in my neighbourhood.

Genius. If it actually works.
Otherwise, expect to have it confiscated immediately, and suffer brutal scrutiny if you park there often.

this is how i didn't pay for parking at seneca college for a whole year. But how does the maid know if you have just left your car there for a long time.

What if it was the same person that wrote the initial ticket? In my area, its only one guy that does the ticketing. They could probably tow your car for abandoning it for too long a time.

thats true it almost happened in the summer to my girlfriend we went up north for 2 nights and the parking control gave her 2 tickets and my dad caught them trying for the 3rd and they said if it wasnt moved in a few hours it would be towed and we had all the sets of keys with us lol we had to call caa and move it to my driveway with a free tow its bull**** parking control is just a cash grab for the city we already pay enough taxes and this is just another way to screw us, theres so many streets around me that is 15 hour parking and mine just happens to be 3 hour cuz no one has petitioned the city to change it, if you get 85% or something like that to sign it they will consider changing it you can get the petition on their website is what they told me
