I just got a parking ticket on my car, but my car has no plates just the 10 day permit, could I get away with no paying it cuz its not plated or is the 10 day permit tied to my driving record??

parking tickets get issued to the owner of the vehicle.
so u will get not be able to get away with it since they will know who owns it as soon as they type in ur temp permit numbers.

yes u might not own it but remember there is a difference between owning the car with a regular plate and not owning the car with a temporary permit.

so u will get the ticket no matter what.

How much is the ticket worth? I think you should pay it, its not worth the risk.

What risk? If you think you might get away with it, wait until they send you a notice telling you specifically to pay up. It doesn't cost anything more.

If you don't pay that $20 ticket and just ignore it, the end result could be added court costs and administration fees. In Mississauga, those "extras" can bump an unpaid $20 ticket up to a $60 owing notice.

I would expect that they would send you a notice to pay it before they started adding surcharges. It would only make sense since your first notice was tucked under your windshield wiper, i.e. slightly less securely delivered than FedEx. I'm not too sure though, it seems like every street that I try to park on has the rules posted on signs. Since I'm literate I can usually figure out how to park without getting a ticket.
