Need your help, for the benefit of import lovers everywhere!
Hey Folks!
James Mcintosh here from toronto-subaru-club.com, just wanted to say hello and perhaps ask the honda nuts at TCC to help me out with a little research I've been conducting.
As some of you who visit the TSC occasionally may know, I've been conducting research regarding the state of insurance in Ontario for owners of modified vehicles. I've been polling our members there for information and so far, I'm making a lot of headway into important information regarding insuring our vehicles in ontario.
As some of you may have heard, certain insurance companies are cancelling policies, denying coverage and/or putting owners of modified cars into high risk / facility markets of insurance just based on the fact that we drive modified cars.
Obviously unfair, I'm looking into gathering as much information as possible with the purpose of either a) finding an insurance company that, in short is "mod friendly" or b) trying to create a proper market or group for owners of modified cars, ultimately so that we can enjoy our hobby to the fullest without the feeling that we are doing something that is somehow on the fringe of being legal.
So far, things aren't looking so great. I've reported my findings in this post for you to reference, and will continue to report my findings as this continues. (see link below)

I need your help, what I'm looking for is for your insurance information- who your are insured with, do they know that your car is modded, and if not, have you ever inquired about your insurance regarding your modified car.
Include type of vehilcle, year, age, clean driving record (yes or no will suffice), name of insurer (or broker and underwriter if applicable) and whether or not they are aware of mods to your vehicle and please email me to james@toronto-subaru-club.com
Any help would be of enormous benefit, and I thank you all for helping out.
All information will be held in strictest confidence.
Regards,

How is it unfair to charge someone more insurance and deny them liability coverage if they are modifiying their vehicles from stock, and then expecting the company whi insures it to cover parts and modifications when the company assumes that they are insuring a totally stock 2000 Honda Civic SI?....
I understand how you feel and how insurers discriminate but there are 2 sides to every story.....
