Unhappy need some advice

I'm not sure if anyone is going to know the legal solution to this, but i need some help.
I have my car stored in the garage at my parents office.(the garage is used only for their work van) So here is the story of what's happened:
Jan 27 - The landlord had someone in to fix a problem, but they didn't call my parents first to let them know someone would be going there. Since my car was in the way they took the cover off, and moved the car themselves just by pushing it.
Jan29 - A pipe burst(caused by the work they were doing a couple of days earlier) causing sewage to spill all in the garage. So this time they actually call my parents b/c they have to have someone in to fix the burst pipe, and they need my car moved. So my mom goes over to the office to move the car, this is when they tell her how the pipe burst and that they already moved my car and were in the office w/o even telling my parents. So my mom is now mad at them for going into the office w/o notifying her and for moving my car(they could've called to begin with) They clean up all the stuff on the floor and fix the burst pipe.
Jan 30 - one of the guys that works for my dad was at the office in the morning going to work and noticed tools all over the hood of my car (w/o the cover on it). So he calls my mom to tell her, and she goes over to take pictures and move the tools. My dad then goes over to look and see what if any damage there is to the car. He sees scratches on the hood, some not so deep but a couple of really deep ones. My mom calls me to see if there were any scratches before, I tell her there weren't any(my hood was just touched up when my bumper was in being fixed in late august)
I went home on Friday nite to see Dave(the day after his accident) and the two of us went to see my car to see how much damage on Saturday morning(and to see his car ). There are tons of scratches all over the hood, and some deep ones, just as my dad said. Now my hood is going to need to be repainted, since I can't just have touch ups done.
Any suggestions on what we should do, both my parents and I agree that they should pay for these damages, but I'm not even sure where to start. Well I know that we need to talk to the landlord, but I have a feeling that they're not going to make this easy for us.
Sorry this is so long, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Kristen

firt off talk to the landlord and see what he says, if he disagree with you and he doens't wanna pay for the damage, then just scare him off by telling him you will take this to court. That's only to scare him off, your not really taking it to the court because it's only a hood. and to fix it, it should run you like $100-150 maybe more.

Just try talking to him nice and calm, smooth you know so he's not going to burst..

Just my thought....Good luck

You definately need to talk to the landlord.

Express that you are upset with the situation, and that there has been damages done to the car.

Then you must express that the damaged should be repaired and the person responsible should pay.

The landlord is responsible for letting the people in who ultimately caused the damage, as well the landlord had an obligation to notify your parents that he was letting people in which he failed.

You must state this to the landlord.

The people who did the work, are obligated to not only do a good job, but also to exercise caution and care where they are working.

This also must be stated.

You are better off with having the landlord on your side and to pursue it together against the people who damaged your car.

If the landlord refuses to help you, express that he has partial responsibility in the matter and if he fails to see that, tell him that you had sought legal advise and that you have a very good case.

He should be willing to help you by now.

Be prepared speak to a lawyer about this matter.

With the landlord, call up the people who did the work, and tell them that the hood of your car by the people who were doing the work who failed to exercise caution and care as well as a lack of respect for others property.

Tell him that you are upset and that inorder to remedy the situation that you and the landlord feel that they should pay for the damages.

If they refuse, tell him that you have sought legal counsel, explain your case, say that you will also pursue legal fees if that is the direction "they" want to take it also say that they have earned a very bad name with a landlord and that the lack of care and concern as well as customer satisfaction will be remembered and communicated to other landlords so that they may be vary of being victimized by their lack of professionalism.

pm if you have questions.
