need new insurance...

my family got a letter in the mail today from allstate informing us that we no longer have car insurance as of january 11.... the reason?? cause of speeding tickets last dated oct 2002... i was thinking since i turned 21 this year and had no tickets my insurance would drop.... well it did drop thats for sure....

so anyone have a decent company that will be reasonable??

they were all zero demerit points... two were 10 over and one was 15 over... my dads tickets were the harsh ones.... i know one of his was 30 over.... but the fact that a) all my dads tickets weren't me and b) there has been zero tickets nice that last one oct 2002 baffles me....

but i understand why they dropped us... i'm fairly sure that since the rates were frozen thanks to our wonderful mcguinty government... our so called risk was to high....

i dont know what i'm going to do come january though... the only thing that makes sense now is driving without insurance... and i know thats not smart but it either keep my good job and do that or comit to life of failure and work in waterdown

- Call Brokers
- Get only liability coverage...
- Insure seperate from family...
- Sell your hatch and buy something cheaper on insurance..

Thats harsh.. It's expected for sure.. if they can't raise insurance they will just not insure u..

Dont worry man, i was thinking the same way you were after i got into an accident. I tryed kanetix aswell and got a b.s quote, just go to some places in person (shows your more serious, not just screwing with them) and talking to them nicely and you'll get insurance no problem. As for driving with no insurance, some ppl say the fine is $5000 but fail to mention that you are screwed even more for years.

ya i'm not sure what i'm going to do.... the most financial thing i think is to just move to near my work and just bike to work... since i'll be saving so much money not paying for a car i could buy a nice little cbr 600 or something.... cause i'd have a clean record on motocycles....

i just think keeping the car is going to cost way to much when i dont really "need" it

your record with a car is your record with a motorcycle, isnt it?

my dad called from his work tonight and told me the insurance broker said i would be getting insurance for roughly $2500 yearly... which is reasonable i think

Sorry to hear about your insurance problems Rick. Insurance companies suck ***. But isn't insuring a bike more expensive? Hope everything turns out well.

Bike insurance can be nuts depending on the bike and how long you've been drive.

you should see insurance in my name with my record, holy ****

well the thing about bike insurance is that with all hte money i'm saving in not driving a car... a bike would be easy to afford.... expessially if i live as close to work as i want to.... so we'll see what this broker can come up with
