NEED HELP!!! got two tickets.

hey i just got my eg on the road and got pulled over by a pig,

I just got the car insured yesterday, so I was told by the insurance company to keep the slip form my EK in this EG untill I don't recieve it(should arrive by monday).

So thats what I did and the faggit gave me two tickets for "Fail to have insurance card"

and other ticket consisted " No horn motor vehicle" cuz I had a momo racing wheel so he asked me to beep the horn and it didn't wrk.

I have been driving for over a year now and had no problems, or got pulled over ever!

since I don't know the process or anything , would these tickets go on my record/insurance etc.

could sm one please tell me what I should do/or what could be done

**PLEASE help me with your suggestions as Im really stressin out here!!!!!

Fix your horn ... LOL
You should have gotten a temp slip. You're a dumbass for driving without proper insurance, and you should have a horn. It's there for a reason.

Pay the tickets, and save yourself embarassment in court

hmm, you shouldve got a temporary something-or-other from the insurance company. Mine was emailed to me for me to print off until my pink slips came in the mail.

I don't think those tickets come with any demerit points (could be wrong though) but they will stay on your record for if you're pulled over again.
I'd fix the horn ASAP, and possibly fight the insurance ticket. How much was the ticket for? If its like $110 just pay it (probably not worth the hassle) but if its more you could always try fighting it and take the chance that they might lower it, given the 'explanation' and your previous clean record.
Good luck.

horn one...put on a stock wheel, insurance one show it to judge..fight both

username 26-Sep-2008 11:16 PM

Crown: Did you produce a valid insurance slip?
You: No
C: Did the horn work when you were stopped?
Y: No

Judge: Guilty

Fix the horn/wheel and show the insurance was valid when you were stopped, and you might get the charges reduced. You can also ask the judge for extra time to pay if you want.

You might not get anything, but if you're determined to go to court, that IS your right.

it is $65 for the insurance slip and $110 for the horn :S

its quite a bit

but you guyss are right I should fight it.
I will fix the horn tomr
and get a letter from the insurance company that the slip was mailed, n didnt get it till monday

any other suggestions?

Thanks for your time!

If you're taking it to court, talk to the crown before the court opens and they'll offer you a lower charge. You can take it or fight it.
You can write/fax the court for disclosure and discovery if you plan to fight it.

I'd plead guilty with an explaination.

The insurance slip should be very easy to fix. You had your insurance slip, but it was for the new car correct? The policy # and your personal info should be the same, you just didn't have an updated slip because the car was new. Get the new slip and show it in court. The info should all be the same.

You sould have had your insurance company fax or email you a new slip though.

bbarbulo 27-Sep-2008 12:44 PM

ya i'd fight those tix, insurance is bull****, cuz i mean you have your policy number w/ you and you do have insurance on the car - so really no laws were broken. and the horn, was the car saftied? or on temp plates? if it was saftied, did you buy it saftied or you get it done. cuz you can just say it was saftied and you never needed to use the horn, so you couldn't have known the horn was out. and while ignorance of the law is no excuse, ignorance of the facts is. like you can't claim you didn't know it was illegal to drive with a broken horn, but you CAN claim that you didn't know the horn didn't work to begin with. like you don't safety-check your car before every time you drive it... you know what I mean?

Fight the insurance ticket. Your slip should still be good to use as it's still the same number, but as for your horn, your a retard for not having it working, so pay that ticket. The cops are being harder on people more then ever now a days.
